Sep 11, 2003 -- Working with the housing industry for 18 years in the family's siding business, Rachel Boyum decided to fulfill a dream of having a real estate business. After the required schooling and obtaining a real estate license, she worked several years with Warren Nelson.

In 1998, she returned to school to get her broker's license, which would enable her to start her own agency.

The desire to assist people in an exciting time of their lives — buying or selling their homes — has been a strong motivation factor for her. Boyum's business marketing experience, and the desire to help people, has resulted in a steady growth of her real estate business.

Part of the assistance Rachel provides to people selling their homes is to provide a free market analysis. Buyers looking for homes are assisted with deciding what they feel comfortable spending on a home, and directing them in how to obtain financing for the purchase.

Rachel's agency is totally in the computer age, with digital cameras to take pictures of listing, which is linked to Mankato M.L.S. (Multiple Listing Service), allowing all of southern Minnesota's real restate agents to see the properties available in Madelia.

Properties are also listed on the internet, which has been beneficial, with inquiries coming from other states, from people who are planning to relocate.
